This page holds the details for the system configuration for the workstations and the cluster.

  • Operating system: Linux
  • Distribution: Fedora Core 6
  • CPU-type: x86_64 (AMD)

General setup

  • Setting up DHCP for new computers/MAC addresses on the MD VLAN: WebDNS at ITS
  • VLAN subnet: 152.98.195.128/6
  • The BACS router at 152.98.195.129 provides a firewall that ITS can configure
    • Allowed:
      • Incoming ICMP (ping)
      • Incoming TCP/UDP 2023 (sshd) from addresses external to UQ
      • All outgoing connections
    • Denied:
      • Everything else
  • Printer (HP Color LaserJet 4650) @ 172.23.213.43 (chemistry network)
