NKxD motif N-terminal of Walker A motif.

From left to right (N-terminal to C-terminal), Walker A motif (consensus GxxxxGK[ST]), conserved Threonine in-between Walker A and Walker B, and the Walker B motif (consensus DxPG).

NKxD and Walker B motifs specify utilisation of GTP. Circular permutation of NKxD to N-terminus characteristic of GTPases of the Ylqf/YawG family. Suspected functional role in ribosomal assembly (Leipe, D. et. al. 2002).
