SNAP-gamma is one of three SNAPs isoform found in mammal. Its structure similarity with Sec17 (presumably a SNAP-alpha homolog in yeast (Tani, 2003) was insufficient to draw a conclusion that these proteins also had the same function. Another look at SNAP-gamma sequence conservation with its superfamilies is important to investigate the unknown function of this protein. The unknown function also related to evolutionary of SNAPG protein which was conserved in several organisms; including human, mouse, insect, and plants. As SNAPG protein is not detected in prokaryotes organism and it was detected in almost eukaryotes organism. It could be concluded that SNAPG protein has significant function in eukaryotes animals.
