SNAP-gamma is one of three SNAPs isoform found in mammal. Its structure similarity with Sec17 (presumably a SNAP-alpha homolog in yeast (Tani, 2003)) was insufficient to draw a conclusion that these proteins also had the same function. Another look at SNAP-gamma sequence conservation with its superfamilies is important to investigate the unknown function of this protein.
