Function prediction

Function prediction is like detective work; generally no single evidence will tell you what is the function of your protein, but a set of consistent evidences will allow you to make a hypothesis, which then can be further supported by successive research. Don't be timid to test wild hypothesis since it can help you understand your protein, but only include well supported findings in your final work.

Good starting points for getting clues on the function of your protein are the ProKnow and the Profunc web servers.

Analyse how these outputs agree with reports in the literature.
