Domains
- Metazoans
- DPCK and PPAT in a bifunctional form. Coded for by coasy.
- Additional DPCK domain that is bacterial in origin.
- Bacteria
- DPCK domain coded for by CoaE.
- PPAT domain coded for by CoaD.
- Two monofunctional enzymes.
- DPCK domain of coasy similar to DPCK domain of coaE.
Findings
- DPCK domain of metazoans and non-metazoans the only section of the alignment where both metazoans and non-metazoans have some sequence conservation.
- PPAT domain has no conservation between metazoan ans non-metazoan species in the alignment.
- The DPCK domain has ATP and ACO binding sites. These binding sites show sequence conservation throughout the mammalian species.
