[[Bifunctional coenzyme A synthase (CoA synthase)| Back To Main COA Synthase Page]]

Revision as of 07:08, 11 June 2007

Domains

  • Metazoans
    • DPCK and PPAT in a bifunctional form. Coded for by coasy.
    • Additional DPCK domain that is bacterial in origin.
  • Bacteria
    • DPCK domain coded for by CoaE.
    • PPAT domain coded for by CoaD.
    • Two monofunctional enzymes.
  • DPCK domain of coasy similar to DPCK domain of coaE.

Findings

  • DPCK domain of metazoans and non-metazoans the only section of the alignment where both metazoans and non-metazoans have some sequence conservation.
  • PPAT domain has no conservation between metazoan ans non-metazoan species in the alignment.
  • The DPCK domain has ATP and ACO binding sites. These binding sites show sequence conservation throughout the mammalian species.
