Research Interests

In my PhD, I have been focusing on understanding the following questions: 1. Phase transition of fully-hydrated lipid bilayers. 2. Self-assembly of antimicrobial peptides such as cyclotides into membranes.

In addition to membrane-protein biophysics, I am also interested in understanding medicinal research such as clinical trials from statistical perspective. In addition, I am very intersted in statistical such as bayesian modeling.

I will be finishing my PhD in 2011. I am looking for a statistical position in preferiably a clinical trial context, which will allow me to bestly combine my knowledge and interests in Medicine and Statistics.

Education

Master of Medicine (Biostatistics) Xi'an Jiaotong University [1], China (Sep 2004 to Jul 2007)

Bachelor of Medicine (Preventive Medicine) Xi'an Jiaotong University [2], China (Sep 1999 to Jul 2004)

Statistcal Skills

I have good knowledge in the following statistical methods.

1. Sample size estimation and power analysis by using available equations as well as modeling approaches.

2. Randomization/sampling techniques.

3. General/generalized linear model for uncorrelated data.

4. General/generalized linear mixed model for correlated such as longitudinal data.

5. Bayesian modeling.

6. Missing data imputation techniques.

Computer Skills

1. SAS9 for comprehensive statistical analysis. I am a certified advanced programmer for SAS9Verify.

2. Matlab and Tcl for scientific computing. Matlab is a very handy tool for statistical modeling. I have been using Tcl extensively together with VMD for constructing molecular systems and analysing data trajectories in my PhD peojects.

3. SQL and Visual Basic for database design. I attended a Database Theory course in 2005 and spent quite a lot of time using SQL and VB 6.0 to sucessfully design and implement a Simplified Library Database Management Sysgem.
